Regional extent
Southern slope of the Gissar Range. From the Luchob River to the east, to the Tashkutan area to the west (discontinuous). The presence of carbonaceous layers and bauxite-like rocks (a characteristic feature of the Sandzhar Fm) in one section allows considering the Tashkutan Fm as invalid and distinguishing only its facies analogue - the Sandzhar Fm.
